Deep Focus – Site Blocker & Pomodoro runs entirely inside your browser.
- It has no server. It does not create accounts and does not ask for an email address.
- It collects no analytics, telemetry, crash reports or usage statistics.
- Everything it stores (settings and the content you create with it) is kept in your browser's local extension storage on your device. You can export it as a file and delete it at any time from the extension's settings page.
- It does not sell, share or transmit your data to anyone, because it never leaves your computer.
Permissions
The extension asks Chrome for the following, and uses each only as described:
- declarativeNetRequest — Redirects navigation to blocked sites to the extension's own block page while a session is running. Rules are added when a session starts and removed when it ends.
- storage — Stores your block lists, timer settings and the current session state locally.
- alarms — Fires the phase transition at the session's end time and refreshes the toolbar badge once a minute.
- notifications — Optional desktop notification when a focus block or break ends.
- Access to all sites — Required by Chrome for the redirect rules to apply to the sites you choose to block. Deep Focus never reads page content.
Data retention
Data exists only in your browser's local extension storage for as long as the extension is installed. Removing the extension deletes its local data. No copy exists anywhere else.
Changes
If a future version ever changes what the extension stores or where, this page and the extension's store listing will say so before that version ships.
